Joel Clement
Joel Clement, Program Officer for the Conservation Science Program, is an ecologist with a background in biodiversity studies and environmental policy. Prior to coming to the Foundation, Joel was an independent consultant and contributed to research and conservation programs in Alaska, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominica, Madagascar, and the Pacific Northwest. He has received support from the National Geographic Society for biodiversity field research in Chile and was featured in National Geographic Magazine for his field studies in North America. He looks forward to the day his job becomes obsolete and he can spend his days sailing, hiking, writing fiction, and telling stories about how the threat of dramatic climate change gave birth to a global conservation movement of unprecedented scale and influence.
